Flynn Slater is a main character in the Frasier-based fan fiction spin-off Maris.
First appearing in the Season 13 finale, Flynn is Bear Creek's silver tongued activities director. He remains in this capacity until he quits during Season 18 to return to his former job as a children's entertainer. In a Season 25 guest appearance, it is revealed that he and Lisa Grayson now own and run a daycare centre in Spokane.
In Season 16, Flynn acts on his attraction to Lisa, but their relationship comes to an end in Season 17 when Lisa gets jealous over Flynn's burgeoning friendship with another employee, Beth. Flynn realises his feelings for Lisa when she embarks on a class trip to Europe, and follows her abroad to tell her how he feels. Flynn marries Lisa while on their travels, returning to the club in Season 18. A communications breakdown threatens to jeopardise their marriage, until Flynn discovers that Lisa shares his affinity for kids, prompting them to escort Maris' baby son Malcolm back to California to test how they cope with childcare. Returning towards the end of Season 18, Flynn is temporarily fostering a child called Scott with Lisa, who has decided against having her own baby in favour of helping children in need. When Scott returns to his mother in Season 19, Flynn and Lisa temporarily move closer to him, before returning to Washington at the end of the season seeking stable employment as they pursue the adoption of their own child. Flynn finally achieves his dream of being an adoptive parent in Season 20 when Kelly Crane grants him and Lisa the rights to adopt Malcolm in order to free him of Maris' influence, resulting in their permanent exit from the series.
