Vivian St. James is a main character in the Frasier-based fan fiction spin-off MCTV.
At the beginning of MCTV, Vivian is a talk show host working for another network, and frequently clashes with Missy Darling, a rival host. However, when it transpires that the two of them are half-sisters, Vivian forms a partnership with Missy and joins her at MCTV, creating a new show entitled Sisterly Gabbing. Throughout her time on the show, Vivian often feels like a second fiddle to Missy, which results in them temporarily parting ways on a number of occasions. At the end of Season 2, Vivian feels further sidelined when the powers-that-be decide to add a third "sister", Christina Williams, to the show. At the end of Season 3, Vivian resigns and seeks her own fame elsewhere, eventually becoming a radio personality in a small Colorado town. Vivian quickly realises she misses her sister and the life she had back in Seattle and re-joins Missy. Sometime prior to the start of Season 5, Vivian quits MCTV once again after reaching the conclusion that she'll never be as popular as Missy, and finds work at a Seattle radio station. The two sisters ultimately re-unite in the season finale, where Vivian admits her solo career was a bust, and agrees to work with Missy again. This comes to fruition in Season 6 when MCTV relaunches as a web TV service.
